We would proudly like to present to you the goodwill Ambassador of the 43rd World Chess Olympiad – the world recognized mezzo-soprano, the best performer of Carmen - Anita Rachvelishvili.
On December 7, 2009, Anita Rachvelishvili achieved great success by performing the main role in the opera Carmen for the opening season of La Scala. She has since debuted as Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, at the Deutsche Opera Berlin, the Bayerische Staatsoper München, the Staatsoper Berlin, the Seattle Opera, the San Francisco Opera, the Teatro Regio in Turin, with the Canadian Opera Company and at the Arena di Verona, as well as making a return in the role to the Teatro alla Scala. Anita Rachvelishvili made her Netherlands debut when she sang her first Dalila in a concert performance of Samson et Dalila at the Concertgebouw. She has also performed Dulcinée in Massenet’s Don Quichotte at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari.
In the fall of 2011 Anita Rachvelishvili debuted at Carnegie Hall as the Principessa di Bouillon in Francesco Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur.
Since 2014 Anita has a jazz band, directed and conducted by Maestro Nikoloz Rachveli. They held many performances in NY (Club „Le Poisson Rouge“) and in Tbilisi (“Rooms Garden”, “Music Centre of Evgeny Mikeladze”, “Concert Hall”), where jazz and crossover music were performed.
In 2017 Rachvelishvili became the winner of the Bachtrack Opera Awards in the best female singer category (for performing Dalíla in Paris).
Anita Rachvelishvili is actively involved in charity work.
