Tokyo-Tbilisi – “Million Moves” on the International Tournament

On May 25, at 15:00 within the project of “Million Moves” the first international match in online chess was held in the Chess Palace: Tokyo-Tbilisi

The first move was made from Tokyo, by the Georgian Sumo wrestler Tochinoshini (Levan Gorgadze). Levan Gorgadze received the responding move from the President of European Chess Union, Zurab Azmaiparashvili and by the President of Georgian Chess Federation, Giorgi Giorgadze.

From Tbilisi Zurab Azmaifarashvili and Giorgi Giorgadze greeted the Georgian Sumo wrestler, which is in Tokyo and they congratulated him, in the name of Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Mikheil Giorgadze and the Major of Tbilisi, Kakhi Kaladze, winning the most important battle on May Hombasho. In addition, the Organizers of the 43rd World Chess Olympiad 2018 invited Tochinoshini to the 43rd Chess Olympiad as an Honorary Guest.

On May 10, within the “Million Moves” – project President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili made his first move to the Georgian hero Giorgi Antsukhelidze's son Levan Antsukhelidze and on May 13 Batumi Mayor Lasha Komakhidze played against "Dinamo" football legends Aleksandre Chivadze, Tengiz Sulakvelidze and Otar Gabelia.

Project "Million Moves" (The authors of the idea: President of European Chess Union Zurab Azmaiparashvili and Director of Research and Development Association Aleksandre Sulava) is the Georgian innovation, which primarily serves chess and popularization of Georgia. The online tournament will be completed several hours before the 43rd World Chess Olympiad begins. Georgia, Batumi will host the World Chess Olympiad from September 23 till October 6 and our country will have about 4000 visitors from 189 countries.
